Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Astro Mate website and Service (the “Service”), which is operated by Stefan Djokic (SDEE3) as a personal project. By creating an account or using any feature of the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use any feature of Astro Mate, including the dating and matching features. By using the Service you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old and that you are legally able to enter into a binding agreement. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use the Service and will remove such accounts when we become aware of them.

2. Your Account

  • You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must provide accurate birth data. The Service’s astrology outputs are only as accurate as the data you provide, and you acknowledge that incorrect birth data will produce incorrect results.
  • Authentication is provided by Clerk and may be routed through the SDEE3 Identity hub. You agree to comply with Clerk’s terms and any applicable terms of the identity hub.
  • You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Delete account. See our Privacy Policy for details.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Misrepresent your age, identity, birth data, gender, or location.
  • Harass, threaten, demean, stalk, or otherwise harm another user, including in dating messages.
  • Send unsolicited sexual, abusive, or promotional content, or otherwise spam other users.
  • Impersonate any person or entity, or enter another person’s data into a custom chart without their consent.
  • Attempt to access another user’s account, messages, or data, or reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
  • Use bots, scripts, or automated tools to interact with the Service or to collect data from it.
  • Upload content that infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.

We may suspend, lock, hide, or ban accounts, content, or conversations that violate these Terms. See Section 9 for our moderation and enforcement practices.

4. Dating Features — Special Terms

Astro Mate includes a dating and matching feature. The following additional terms apply when you use it.

4.1 Safety; no background checks

  • We do not conduct criminal background checks, identity verification, or screening of users. Anyone using the dating feature is a stranger to you, and you are solely responsible for your own safety.
  • Always meet in a public place, tell someone you trust where you are going, and never send money or share financial information with another user.
  • If another user makes you unsafe or uncomfortable, block them (the Service supports blocking), report them via the in-app report feature, and — if appropriate — contact local authorities.

4.2 No guarantee of a match

Astro compatibility and synastry scores are provided for entertainment and self-reflection only. The Service does not guarantee that you will receive any match, message, date, or relationship, and we do not warrant the accuracy or usefulness of any compatibility score.

4.3 Conduct

  • You will treat other users with respect and comply with the acceptable-use rules in Section 3.
  • You will not request or share contact information in a way that circumvents the Service for the purpose of harassment.
  • You understand that messages you send may be reviewed by our moderators if reported or auto-flagged, and a short snippet of flagged messages may be retained for abuse prevention.

5. User-Generated Content

  • You retain ownership of the content you submit (such as your bio and messages).
  • You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and process that content solely to operate the Service (including showing your public dating profile to other users, delivering your messages to your matches, and reviewing flagged content for moderation).
  • You represent that you have the rights to submit the content you submit and that it does not violate these Terms or any law.
  • We may remove or hide any content that we believe violates these Terms or our community standards, and we may terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations.

6. Credits and Custom Charts

Creating a custom chart for a person who is not registered on Astro Mate may consume credits under whatever credit policy is shown to you at the time. You are responsible for any credit cost you confirm in the UI. We may change or discontinue the credit system; any paid credits remain governed by the policy in effect when you obtained them.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service — including its name, logo, source code, design, natal chart rendering, and Swiss Ephemeris outputs — is owned by the operator and its licensors, except for content you and other users submit. The Swiss Ephemeris underlying planetary data is licensed under the Astrodienst Swiss Ephemeris terms; nothing in these Terms grants you any rights under that license.

8. Third-Party Services

The Service depends on Clerk (authentication), Convex (backend database and runtime), Google (Google Ads measurement on the website via gtag.js, and AdMob ads in the mobile app beginning September 1, 2026), Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram ad measurement on the website via the Meta Pixel and Conversions API), and TikTok Technology Ltd. (ad measurement on the website via the TikTok Pixel and Events API). Your use is also subject to Clerk’s terms, Convex’s terms, Google’s terms, Meta’s terms, and TikTok’s terms. We are not responsible for the practices of those third parties, and you should review their terms as needed.

  • We may automatically flag content, accept reports from users, ban users, and remove or hide content.
  • Our moderators may review a short snippet of flagged content and the reporter’s notes. See our Privacy Policy for what is retained.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or for any other reason we consider appropriate to protect the Service or its users.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, OR THAT ANY ASTROLOGICAL RESULT WILL BE ACCURATE OR MEANINGFUL. ASTROLOGICAL CONTENT IS PROVIDED FOR ENTERTAINMENT AND SELF-REFLECTION ONLY AND IS NOT PROFESSIONAL, MEDICAL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, FINANCIAL, OR LEGAL ADVICE.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL THE OPERATOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON WARRANTY, CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE PAST TWELVE (12) MONTHS, OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold the operator harmless from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice. On termination, the licenses you granted to us in Section 5 end, except that we may retain your content as needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce these Terms, and as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Governing Law; Disputes

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to them or to the Service will be governed by the laws of [Operator’s country of residence], without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You and the operator agree to try in good faith to resolve any dispute informally first, by contacting privacy@sdee3.com. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, either party may bring a claim in the courts of [Operator’s country of residence], and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you in the Service. Your continued use of Astro Mate after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
